Anuvartik Mirji Bharatesh Institute of Technology (AMBIT), also known as Bharatesh Institute of Technology (BIT), is a private engineering institution established in 2024, located at Basavan Kudachi Extension, Shindholli Cross, Belagavi, Karnataka – 591124. Managed by the Bharatesh Education Trust (BET) — an organisation founded in 1962 that runs 21 educational institutions across 3 campuses in and around Belagavi — AMBIT is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The college’s motto, “Tejasvi Nāvadhītamastu” (Let our study be enlightening), reflects BET’s century-long commitment to quality, affordable education.

As a newly established institution, AMBIT currently enrols 642 students (581 UG, 61 PG) and has 13 regular faculty members under Principal Veena Karchi. The college is building a robust academic and industry ecosystem backed by BET’s established reputation. A key highlight is AMBIT’s MoU with the Belagavi Startup Association (BSA), which has set up an IT Incubation Centre on campus — making it one of the emerging hubs of the startup ecosystem in Belagavi. Admissions to BE are through KCET (Government quota) and management quota via BET. COMEDK UGET is also accepted.

Courses & Fees

AMBIT offers BE programmes in four specialisations: CSE, ECE, AI & Machine Learning, and Information Science & Engineering. A postgraduate MCA programme is also available. Placements

As AMBIT was established in 2024, its first BE graduating batch is expected in 2028. The college is actively building its placement infrastructure through its MoU with the Belagavi Startup Association (BSA) and the on-campus IT Incubation Centre, which bridges the gap between industry standards and student capabilities. BET’s broader academic ecosystem — which includes MBA, BCA, Polytechnic, and ITI institutions — provides a ready network for industry connections. Rankings & Recognitions

As a 2024-established institution, AMBIT has not yet entered national ranking cycles such as NIRF. NAAC and NBA accreditation will be pursued once the first graduating batch completes their degree in 2028. However, BET’s legacy institutions — including its NAAC-accredited MBA and BCA programmes and its NABH-accredited Homeopathic Hospital — demonstrate the trust’s commitment to quality, which sets a strong foundation for AMBIT’s future recognition.

Campus & Facilities

Located at Shindholli Cross in suburban Belagavi, AMBIT’s campus is being developed with modern engineering infrastructure. The flagship facility is the BSA IT Incubation Centre — a dedicated startup and technology lab that gives students direct access to Belagavi’s growing startup ecosystem. The 30,000 sq ft campus houses engineering labs, classrooms, and support facilities aligned with VTU and AICTE norms.

Scholarships

BET’s primary objective is to provide quality education to poor, needy, and rural students in and around Belagavi. In keeping with this mission, AMBIT supports students through all applicable government scholarship schemes. SC/ST/OBC students can apply for the Karnataka GoK Post-Matric Scholarship. Central government merit schemes are also available. The college administration provides full documentation support for scholarship applications.

Faculty & Research

AMBIT currently has 13 regular faculty members under the leadership of Principal Veena Karchi. The faculty team covers all four BE specialisations. As a new institution, AMBIT is actively expanding its academic team in line with VTU and AICTE staffing norms. The BSA IT Incubation Centre provides a unique research and entrepreneurship avenue, allowing faculty and students to collaborate on live startup and technology projects from the very first year.
