R.T.E. Society’s Rural Engineering College (REC) is a historic private engineering institution established in 1980 by Late Sri K.H. Patilji, a visionary politician who revolutionized higher education in North Karnataka. Located in a 46-acre campus in Hulkoti, Gadag District, Karnataka 582205 on NH-65, REC holds the distinction of being the first engineering college in the North Karnataka region.
REC is governed by the Rural Technical Education Society and affiliated to VTU Belagavi, approved by AICTE New Delhi. The college holds Careers360 State Engineering College AA+ rating (2020). REC offers 7 undergraduate engineering programmes and 1 postgraduate programme (MBA), with 6 recognized research centres hosting over 50 PhD researchers in Chemical Engineering.
