Scholarships & Fee Waivers
Students admitted through the DTE Maharashtra CAP process at SHVPM COET can apply for Government of Maharashtra scholarship and freeship schemes (EBC, SC/ST/OBC/VJNT/EWS/Minority) through the state’s official MahaDBT portal (mahadbt.maharashtra.gov.in). The college itself publishes a “Required scholarship documents” checklist each academic year on its official website, indicating an active in-house scholarship-processing mechanism. The FRA (Fee Regulating Authority) fee structure already reflects the government-reimbursed portion for OBC/EBC/EWS category students, meaning eligible students effectively pay a lower net amount than the Open-category fee, with the difference reimbursed to the college by the relevant government department. Merit-based institutional scholarships, if any, are not confirmed on official pages โ verify directly with the admission cell.
Cutoff / Admission Rank Trends
Round-wise MHT-CET/JEE Main cutoff percentile or rank data specific to SHVPM COET Amravati, branch-wise, for CAP Rounds I-III was not found published in a verifiable, extractable format on the official DTE Maharashtra or MHT-CET Cell sources at the time of writing. Rankings
NAAC: Accredited with Grade 'A' (per the college’s official About page and published NAAC Certificate).
NBA: Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunication were previously NBA accredited; the published NBA certificate on the official site shows validity up to 2014-15, indicating this accreditation cycle has lapsed โ current NBA status should be verified directly with the college or the NBA website (nbaind.org).
NIRF: The college submits Institute Data annually for both the Engineering and Management (MBA) categories (NIRF 2020 through NIRF 2026 data files are published on the official website), but a confirmed overall NIRF numeric rank or band was not found publicly listed โ verify at nirfindia.org.
ISO: ISO 9001:2015 certified (Quality Management System).
Advantages
- Established, permanently SGBAU-affiliated institute with 20+ years of continuous operation.
- NAAC 'A' grade and ISO 9001:2015 certification demonstrate institutional quality processes.
- Genuinely strong sports infrastructure (Olympic-size pool, dedicated indoor stadium) โ a rare differentiator among Vidarbha engineering colleges.
- Well-resourced library with access to premium international e-journal databases (IEEE, ACM, Scopus, SAGE, Oxford) via SGBAU/INFLIBNET consortia.
- Active R&D Cell with real AICTE/CSR-backed grants (MODROB, HPC facility, UBA perennial grant).
- Transparent public-disclosure culture โ audit reports, mandatory disclosures, and NIRF submissions published year-wise since 2018-19.
- Structured Training & Placement Cell with documented pre-placement training (soft skills, aptitude, communication).
Limitations
- NBA accreditation for CSE and E&TC, as published on the official site, shows validity only up to 2014-15 โ prospective students should independently confirm current NBA status before assuming it is active today.
- No confirmed overall NIRF numeric ranking is publicly available, despite annual data submission.
- Exact, granular fee break-up (hostel, mess, development fee, security deposit) is not clearly published in an easily readable format โ the official Fee Structure PDF is a scanned document that is difficult to parse.
- Placement package (CTC) figures on the official website are limited โ the average B.E. package is estimated around โน6 LPA and the highest around โน10 LPA, but median MBA package figures are thinner and should be confirmed directly with the placement cell.
- The official recruiters page publishes top recruiter names only as an image graphic rather than an accessible text list, though known recruiters include Genpact, IBM, L&T Infotech, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, and HCL.
- Boys’ hostel details (rooms, capacity, fee) are not clearly published; only the Girls’ hostel is detailed on the official Facilities page.
- Located in a Tier-2/Tier-3 city (Amravati) with a comparatively smaller local industry and recruiter base than Pune, Mumbai, or Nagpur.
Who Should Choose SHVPM COET
SHVPM COET is a reasonable option for MHT-CET/JEE Main candidates who are domiciled in or prefer the Vidarbha region (Amravati and neighbouring districts), want an AICTE-approved, SGBAU-affiliated, NAAC 'A'-grade private engineering college with an established 20+ year track record, and are specifically interested in Computer Science, IT, Electronics & Telecommunication, or Mechanical Engineering. It also suits candidates who value strong sports/co-curricular infrastructure and MBA aspirants seeking a locally affiliated management programme. Because official round-wise cutoff percentiles for this specific college were not available at the time of writing, candidates should check the live DTE Maharashtra CAP cutoff PDF for the current year and compare seat-availability trends alongside their own MHT-CET/JEE Main percentile before finalizing their CAP option list.
Who Should Consider Other Options
Students who specifically require a currently active NBA-accredited branch, a nationally-ranked NIRF band institute, or a college with publicly disclosed high-package placement statistics may want to evaluate other AICTE-approved colleges in Nagpur, Pune, or Mumbai with more recent, verifiable accreditation and placement disclosures. Students prioritizing metro-city internship/placement ecosystems with a dense concentration of IT/product-company recruiters should also weigh options beyond Amravati’s regional industry base.
Admission Tips
- Register on the DTE Maharashtra CAP portal as soon as the schedule is announced โ do not wait till the last date.
- Keep MHT-CET/JEE Main scorecards, 10th/12th mark sheets, domicile, and category certificates scanned and ready before document verification opens.
- Review the official Fee Structure 2025-26 PDF category-wise before filling CAP preferences, as OBC/EBC/EWS students receive a government-reimbursed fee offset that lowers their net payable amount versus the Open category.
- Contact the admission cell directly for course-specific queries โ official contact persons and mobile numbers are published on the Admissions page.
- Apply for MahaDBT scholarship/freeship immediately after seat confirmation to avoid missing the scholarship application window.
- If applying via JEE Main under the All-India Quota, track both JEE Main-based and MHT-CET-based CAP rounds separately, as seat allocation logic differs.
- Budget for the two-instalment fee schedule (admission-time and pre-15-December) when planning finances.
- Visit the campus or speak with current students/alumni before finalizing your CAP option order, especially to assess hostel and facility fit for your specific needs.

Final Verdict
SHVPM COET (H.V.P. Mandal’s College of Engineering & Technology), Amravati, is a well-established private engineering institute that has been operating since 2002 under a locally respected education-and-sports body, with permanent affiliation to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University and full AICTE/DTE Maharashtra approval. Its NAAC 'A' grade accreditation, ISO 9001:2015 certification, and consistent public-disclosure practices (mandatory disclosures, audit reports, and NIRF data filed every year since 2018-19) reflect a stable, compliance-conscious institution rather than a fly-by-night operator.
On academics, the college offers a focused set of four core B.E. branches (CSE โ 120 seats, E&TC โ 60, IT โ 60, Mechanical โ 60), M.E. in CSE/E&TC (36 seats), and an MBA programme (60 seats), with B.E. tuition running approximately โน67,500 to โน93,000 per year depending on category (exact figures should be verified on the official Fee Structure PDF before payment). The library’s access to IEEE, ACM, Scopus, SAGE, and Oxford University Press resources, combined with an active R&D Cell and AICTE/CSR-backed grants, gives the institute a credible academic-support ecosystem for a Tier-2 city college.
On placements, the officially published batch-wise records show meaningful placement activity โ from 47 to 119 students placed across disciplines in the 2020-2023 batches โ run through a structured Training & Placement Cell with pre-placement training programmes. The average B.E. package is estimated around โน6 LPA with a highest package around โน10 LPA, and recruiters such as Genpact, IBM, L&T Infotech, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, and HCL have visited campus โ though prospective students should still confirm the latest batch-specific figures with the placement cell directly, since granular, official year-wise CTC disclosures remain limited. Similarly, the NBA accreditation shown for CSE/E&TC carries a stated validity only up to 2014-15, and no confirmed NIRF rank band is currently published โ both points where students should seek direct, updated confirmation from the college before relying on historical accreditation claims.
Overall, SHVPM COET Amravati is a credible, moderately priced, MHT-CET-route engineering college suited to Vidarbha-region candidates who value an established, accredited, well-resourced campus over metro-city placement glamour โ provided applicants independently verify current-year cutoffs, exact fees, and up-to-date accreditation status through the official college and DTE Maharashtra channels before locking their CAP choice.
