About SJM Institute of Technology
Sri Jagadguru Murugarajendra Institute of Technology (SJM IT), commonly known as SJMIT, was established in 1980-81 in Chitradurga with the blessings of Sri Sri Sri Mallikarjuna Murugharajendra Mahaswamiji, the then President of SJM Vidyapeetha. The institute has become the largest provider of engineering education in central Karnataka over four decades.
SJMIT is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Belagavi and approved by AICTE New Delhi. The college is accredited by NAAC with B++ Grade. Spread over 22 acres adjacent to NH-4 bypass in Chitradurga, the eco-friendly campus with lush green gardens provides a serene and homely atmosphere for higher education.
